Whiteboard Labs is a web and application development company headquartered in Houston, Texas, with an international office in Shanghai, China. Whiteboard Labs has over 10 years of experience developing ideas into web sites and software for the web.
The company, founded in 1994, is a recognized leader and pioneer in the development of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs). Aside from developing RIAs, Whiteboard Labs has created numerous websites and custom applications for clients around the world.
Our award-winning work has been covered in many magazines, books, articles, white papers, and other presentations.
1994 was an eventful year. Full House was a top sitcom on TV (TGIF, remember?). Forrest Gump hit theaters with a different perspective on our nation's history. Jim Whitney left NASA as an engineer (we call him a rocket scientist) and started Webvertising, a web development company. A few years, employees, clients, and products later, Webvertising became the premier technology company and RIA development shop for the hospitality industry through its chief product, iHotelier.
In 2003, Webvertising sold iHotelier and saw the opportunity to rename the company Whiteboard Labs after the tool most used by the team. In 2007, WBL opened its second office in Shanghai, China, taking the company global. Since adopting the new name, Whiteboard Labs has added new products to its inventory, remarkable clients to its roster, and great people to its team. Today, Whiteboard Labs continues to be a pioneer in the development of Rich Internet Applications and a leader on the web.
